SplitMyExpenses Premium unlocks powerful features to save you time and keep your expenses organized. Here's everything included with a premium subscription.

Default Splits

Automatically apply your preferred split ratios to new expenses. Instead of manually adjusting splits each time, set it once and every new expense uses your defaults.

Perfect for:

  • Couples splitting bills 60/40

  • Roommates with unequal rent shares

  • Any group with consistent split percentages

AI Receipt Scanning

Upload a receipt photo and let AI extract:

  • Total amount

  • Individual line items

  • Suggested categorization

This is especially powerful for itemized expenses where different people ordered different items. Snap a photo of your restaurant receipt and AI parses each dish for easy splitting.

Note: AI receipt scanning works best with clear, well-lit photos of printed receipts. Handwritten receipts may have lower accuracy.

AI Expense Categorization

When you create an expense, AI suggests the most likely category based on the description. Type "Uber to airport" and it automatically suggests Transportation. This is a premium-only feature.

Bank Account Syncing

Connect your bank accounts and credit cards to automatically import transactions. No more manual entry—your expenses appear as you spend.

How it works:

  1. Link your bank through Stripe Financial Connections

  2. Transactions sync automatically

  3. Review and assign imported expenses to groups/friends

Note: Bank syncing is a premium-only feature because maintaining these connections costs money.

Recurring Expenses

Set up expenses that repeat on a schedule:

  • Weekly rent splits

  • Monthly utility bills

  • Regular subscriptions

Create it once, and it automatically generates new expenses on your schedule. Free users can create up to 10 recurring expenses; premium users get up to 100.

Priority Support

Premium users get faster response times when they reach out for help.

How to Upgrade

  1. Go to your Profile or Settings

  2. Click Upgrade or Billing

  3. Choose your plan

  4. Complete payment through Stripe

Your premium features activate immediately after payment.

Common Questions

Q: Do my friends need premium too? No. Only the features you use require your premium subscription. For example, if you set up default splits, they apply when you create expenses. But if a non-premium group member creates an expense, they'll use the standard equal split (not your defaults).

Q: Can I cancel anytime? Yes. You can cancel your subscription from the billing page. You'll keep premium access until the end of your current billing period.

Q: What payment methods do you accept? We accept major credit cards through Stripe. This includes Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
